Dobi Mission Field

Dobi is a district in Gwagwalada LGA in FCT. The resident of the land are called the Gbagis. Dobi district is comprised of several villages remotely located and far away from social amenities like pipe borne water, electricity, schools, health care, etc.
The Church was able to plant a number of churches in some of the villages. So far, seven churches have been built. There are:

i. Dobi Center:

This church is located in Dobi center. Victor and Janet Dadira from Cameroun are the pastors in charge of this church. The Church has about twenty members. Dobi Center is also used as the co-ordinating centre. The church has a worship hall that can accommodate up to 500 worshippers. The church building is at the finishing stage.

ii. Ledi I and II
Ledi I and Ledi II are located not too far from Dobi Centre. The church engaged the services of Solomon and Martha Ayuba who coordinates the activities of the two churches. They are from Mubi in Adamawa State. The Church, through contributions from well-meaning and spirited members has built a pastorium of 3-bedroom flat at Ledi II for the Pastor.

iii. Keida:
The Church is located close to the Fulani settlement in Keida Village. Pastor and Mrs. Danjuma Bala from Nasarawa state who pastor the church resigned recently. The church is in need of a new pastor for this area. Sometimes last year, the Church building collapsed and a temporary structure was put up for worship. As God releases funds, a permanent structure will be raised for worship.

iv. Ashara:
The church is situated among the Gbagis and Bassas. The Church have over forty worshippers. A new Church building was recently built and is in the finishing stage. Pastor and Mrs. Micah Joel from Plateau state takes care of this Church. Recently, the Church Pastor, Micah Joel, gained admission into Grace Foundation In-Land Mission for a one year course on missions. He needs our prayers.

v. Dako:
The area has Gbagi, Tiv and Bassa tribes and Pastor John Ojie Anyia from Cross River State pastors this Church with over 40 members. Some time ago, in partnership with Total Child Care Initiative, an NGO, a school was started in this village and the school was later adopted by the government of the FCT. The NGO in collaboration with the TY Danjuma Foundation built blocks of classroom and offices in a plot that has been donated for running the school.

vi. Tundu Wasa:
The Church have about 40 members mainly of the Gbagi and Tiv tribes. Pastor Yakubu Ibrahim from Kano state is the Pastor of this Church.
From the above background information about the Dobi Mission field, UEC Utako has recruited persons from different places and have sent them into these ripe harvest field of the Master.

The Church recently engaged the services of Pastor Daniel Onuh, who has a Diploma in Theology from PACT Ankpa and a Certificate in Missions from Grace Foundation In-Land Missions, Jos, as the Coordinating Pastor in-charge of Dobi Missions.

Educational Support

UEC Utako, through the missions department have successfully paid the school fees of the missionaries’ children, thereby reducing the burden on the Pastors

Dobi Projects

The Mission Department also intends or plan towards carrying out other several projects that will improve the social lives of the people like sinking boreholes, opening more schools, carrying out enlightenment campaigns, etc.
The Church is planning to build a pastorium in Dobi Centre to accommodate the newly engaged coordinating pastor, Daniel Onuh and his family.

Dobi Needs

For the Missions Department to function adequately, the following are needed:

  1. A 4WD Jeep or Double Cabin Pick-Up (Hilux)
  2. Motorcycles for field missionaries
  3. Laptop and Desktop Computers with accessories
  4. Generators
  5. Projector and Screen
  6. Televisions
  7. DVD Player
  8. Set of Musical equipment
  9. Public Address Systems (Loud Speakers, Microphones, Amplifiers, etc)
  10. Funds to complete our various projects
  11. Etc.
